In 2004, Jason Sprott, the founder of Mates Against Melanoma, became one of the many Australians diagnosed with melanoma. Today he is terminally ill with stage IV metastasis melanoma.
Mates Against Melanoma's mission has been to help advance the prevention & early detection of melanoma in Australia with the goal of reducing long term melanoma rates within a decade.
The charity is campaigning to normalise Skin Checks across the nation. SunDoctors have partnered with Mates Against Melanoma for Australia’s National Skin Check Day on Thursday February 25th and are encouraging patients to get their skin checked.
